As a PRESENTER

  • ✅ Face the audience, make eye contact
  • ✅ Speak clearly and at a good pace
  • ✅ Use your visuals as support, not a script
  • ✅ Share speaking time with all group members
  • ✅ Show enthusiasm for your topic
  • ✅ Stay within your time limit

As an AUDIENCE

  • ✅ Give full attention (devices away)
  • ✅ Show you're listening (nod, eye contact)
  • ✅ Keep an open mind
  • ✅ Take notes for Q&A
  • ✅ Applaud at the end
  • ✅ Be supportive—we're all learning!

During Q&A

  • ✅ Raise hand and wait to be called on
  • ✅ Ask one clear question at a time
  • ✅ Questions should help understanding
  • ✅ It's okay to say "I don't know, but I'll find out"
  • ✅ Thank the person for their question
  • ✅ Respectfully disagree if needed

  • ✅ Begin with a mihi (greeting) if appropriate
  • ✅ Acknowledge the mana of speakers
  • ✅ Listen without interrupting (whakarongo)
  • ✅ Questions can come at the end (kōrero)
  • ✅ Manaakitanga—support each other
  • ✅ End with thanks and acknowledgement
