π Sentence Structure
The Basic Sentence
Every sentence needs at least:
- Subject β who or what the sentence is about
- Verb β what the subject does or is
Example: The kiwi (subject) ran (verb).
Types of Sentences
- Simple β one clause (The dog barked.)
- Compound β two clauses joined by conjunction (The dog barked and the cat ran.)
- Complex β main clause + dependent clause (When the dog barked, the cat ran.)
