Everything Leaves a Trace

Your digital footprint is everything you do online:

  • Posts, comments, likes, shares
  • Photos and videos
  • Websites you visit
  • Messages you send
  • Accounts you create

Warning: Future employers, universities, and others may search for you online!

⚠️ Cyberbullying

What is Cyberbullying?

Cyberbullying is using technology to hurt, harass, or embarrass someone. This includes:

  • Mean messages or comments
  • Spreading rumours online
  • Sharing embarrassing photos without consent
  • Excluding someone from online groups
  • Creating fake accounts to mock someone

If you're being cyberbullied: Don't respond. Screenshot. Block. Tell a trusted adult.

©️ Respecting Copyright

It's Not Yours Just Because It's Online

  • Images, music, videos, and text have owners
  • Always credit the source when using others' work
  • Look for Creative Commons or free-to-use content
  • Plagiarism is copying without credit

✏️ Activities

Activity: Search Yourself

With permission, search your name online. What comes up? Think about:

  • Would you be happy if a future employer saw this?
  • Is there anything you'd want to change or remove?
  • What kind of digital footprint do you want to build?
